Tutor Bio

My name is Erin Kennerney, and I am an experienced English and French teacher from Dublin with nine years of experience teaching Junior and Senior Cycle students. I am passionate about both subjects and am known for my dynamic teaching style, creative lessons and ability to build positive relationships with my students. I have received praise from students, parents and inspectors alike for my engaging approach to teaching. I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual needs, creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and developing their skills. My teaching approach combines clear, structured notes, oral discussion, targeted questioning and extensive exam preparation. Having thoroughly studied past Junior and Leaving Certificate exam papers in both subjects, I have developed comprehensive notes and practical exam strategies to help students understand what is required of them and approach their exams with greater confidence. My number one goal is to get students familiar with exam style questions so that they have a clear understanding of how to use the information I teach them in an answer in June. I hold a First-Class BA International Degree in English and French and a First-Class Professional Master of Education (Post-Primary), both from Maynooth University. I also spent a year studying at Aix-Marseille Université in Aix-en-Provence, France, as part of the Erasmus programme. I am currently living and working in France, continuing to develop my French language skills.
