Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what personal data GrindsWorld collects, why, how long we keep it and the rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law.
Students and parents
When you send an inquiry, we collect your email address, contact number and message. Every inquiry goes to our tuition coordinator, who uses these details to contact you by text, phone or email about your tuition needs and to put you in touch with a tutor. We keep inquiries only for as long as we need them to arrange and follow up on your tuition.
When you leave a review, we collect your name, email address, rating and review. Your name (shortened to 20 characters), rating and review are shown publicly on the tutor's profile. Your email address is never shown. To protect against fake reviews we also record the IP address the review was sent from.
Tutors
When you register, we collect your email address and a password, which is stored only as a secure hash. Your profile's tutor name, photo, bio, hourly rate, subjects and locations are shown publicly once your profile is approved. Your email address and contact number are never shown publicly: they are visible only to our administrators so that we can send you students. We record when you last logged in, because this affects your position in search results.
You can delete your account at any time from the Delete My Profile page. This permanently deletes your account, profile, photo and reviews.
Cookies and tracking
We use an essential cookie to keep you signed in, and short-lived cookies to show messages after a form is submitted. These are always on.
With your consent, we also use Google Ads conversion tracking and the Facebook (Meta) Pixel to measure our advertising. These services set their own cookies and receive information such as your IP address, browser and the pages you visit. You can choose “Essential only” on the cookie banner, and you can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Our servers record log files (for example IP address and pages requested) to keep the service secure and working well.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. We use service providers to run the site: hosting, our email delivery provider (Mailgun), and, if you consent, Google and Meta. We may also disclose data where the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct, export or erase your personal data, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To make a request, contact us. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (www.dataprotection.ie).
