Tutor Bio

Hi, I’m Melissa, a Lecturer and Research Fellow at Trinity College Dublin with over 12 years of experience tutoring Junior Cycle, Leaving Certificate, undergraduate and MSc students in Biology and Chemistry. Alongside my teaching, I am a Research Fellow in translational oncology and nanomedicine, working across the Schools of Medicine and Pharmacy, where I conduct research focused on developing new cancer therapies. I lecture undergraduate students in Pharmacy, Medicine and Physiology, as well as teaching across a range of MSc programmes in Biomedical Sciences and Biotechnology. I tailor every lesson to the individual student, creating a supportive environment that builds confidence while developing a strong understanding of the subject. I simplify complex topics using clear explanations, diagrams and practical examples, making Biology and Chemistry easier to understand. My lessons are highly exam-focused, using past papers, exam-style questions and proven exam techniques to help students understand exactly what examiners are looking for and maximise their marks.
