Tutor Bio
My name is Andrea, and I am a qualified and experienced teacher offering Spanish grinds for Junior Cycle and Leaving Certificate, as well as Maths grinds for Junior Cycle. I hold a degree in Spanish and Mathematics from UCC and a Master of Education. Having lived in Mexico for 26 years, I bring a native-level understanding of Spanish, alongside strong exam-focused teaching strategies. Before moving to Ireland eight years ago, I studied law and worked in government. With eight years of grinds experience and five years of classroom teaching, I specialise in helping students improve their grades, build confidence, and master exam technique. My lessons are structured, focused, and tailored to each student, with an emphasis on key exam skills—writing, comprehension, oral work, and grammar—ensuring measurable progress over time. Lessons are available online (Teams/Skype) or in person at my home. Please get in touch to discuss how I can help you achieve your goals.

I contacted Andrea because I was interested in hablando español. I had completed all Duolingo lessons but still had no fluency or confidence to speak Spanish. Andrea tailors her lessons to whatever a customer needs & I am so happy I found her. I'm finally growing in confidence & using the Spanish that was locked in my head!

Andrea helped me with Spanish for my junior and leaving cert. I found her to be extremely helpful as I was struggling for the junior cert but came out with a higher merit. I kept Spanish on as I loved the language in the end and also kept going to grinds with Andrea as I’m hoping to get a H1 in my leaving cert. Andrea was very encouraging, supportive but most of all practical. I would 100% recommend her for grinds!

I've been taking Spanish lessons with Andrea for the past few months and highly recommend her to any student! She is very patient, kind, and encouraging. My Spanish has progressed much quicker since we started lessons

Excellent tutor. My son went to Andrea for Junior Cert Spanish grinds. It was clear that Andrea has a passion for the language with each lesson enjoyable and an emphasis on the student speaking as much Spanish as possible.
