My name is Sharon and I have a BA International in German and Mathematics from NUIM, where I received a first in German. I completed ERASMUS in Wuppertal in 2010/2011 and obtained a PDE in NUIG in 2013.
I've been teaching at the same school since I qualified in 2013 and have taught 9 Leaving Cert classes to date. In addition to my work inside of the classroom, I have 6+ years experience of giving grinds to LC and JC students, both one to one and online.
I spent the summers of 2017, 2018 and 2019 living with a family in Germany, where I taught one adult German and two teenagers English as a foreign language.
I have a huge passion for German and believe a knowledge of German can open up endless opportunities in terms of work and travel.
I aim to incorporate teaching styles to suit the individual learning needs of students. I assess individual student's ability during the first session or two to identify where we should commence. I provide my own notes to students, and will help students to develop their listening, reading, spoken and written skills in preparation for their exams.
In addition to my nine years teaching experience, I have marked LC German Examinations for 5 years and JC HL for 2 years, and thus have extensive knowledge of what is required to obtain high grades in German.
