GrindsWorld Tutor: John O'Doherty

Hi I am John and I am 20 year old second year student in Commerce in UCD meaning I sat the Leaving Cert in 2025. I got a H1 in Accounting and Business and got a first class honours in first year in Commerce with an A in my accounting module.

I will be doing accounting and business grinds and trying to make concepts and aspects of both courses that are notoriously ‘difficult’’ seem more accessible and approachable for students. Accounting is particularly a subject that is feared and misunderstood, and is quite predictable and manageable when looking at previous exam papers. The main part of the business course that is disliked is the ABQ, but I was taught a formula to success which allowed me to get 80/80 in this section.

My aim is to try provide confidence to students so they can achieve what they deserve, and to be strategic in what is learnt to try minimise irrelevant learning!
