GrindsWorld Tutor: Brayan McDermott

I am a fluent French speaker, having spent eight years living abroad where I used the language daily in both academic and everyday settings. During this time, I was often called upon to translate between French and English, which further strengthened my accuracy, confidence, and ease in both languages. This immersive experience has given me a strong command of spoken and written French, as well as a deep understanding of the culture. I am confident in helping students at all levels, whether they are preparing for exams, improving conversational fluency, or strengthening their grasp of grammar.
In addition, I am an accomplished musician and music teacher. I am both a pianist and organist, with 17 years of experience as a pianist. I hold two diplomas from the Victoria College of Music and have completed all Royal Irish Academy of Music grade examinations, including achieving honours in the RIAM recital programmes. I have a strong background in both performance and teaching, and have worked with students of varying ages and abilities, helping them to develop their technique, musicality, and confidence.
I am an exam-focused and patient tutor, dedicated to helping students achieve strong results in their examinations and reach their full potential. My lessons are structured and targeted, focusing on improving specific weaknesses—particularly in oral work and grammar—as well as developing musical skills such as performance, technique, and interpretation, so that students can make clear and measurable progress.
