GrindsWorld Tutor: Sanjay Deepak Menon

I am a committed Maths grinds tutor with experience delivering free group sessions to over 30 students. Through this, I have developed strong skills in explaining complex concepts clearly and adapting my teaching to suit different ability levels. My focus is not just on covering content, but on identifying the key barriers that prevent students from succeeding in Maths—particularly gaps in fundamental understanding, low confidence, and poor exam technique.

In my sessions, I prioritise building a solid conceptual foundation before moving to exam-style application. I place a strong emphasis on active problem-solving, pattern recognition, and teaching students how to approach questions strategically rather than relying on memorisation. This approach has helped students improve both their understanding and their performance under timed exam conditions.

Running large group grinds has also strengthened my communication, organisation, and leadership skills. Managing a group of this size requires clarity, structure, and the ability to keep students engaged while ensuring no one is left behind. I have learned how to break topics into logical steps, anticipate common mistakes, and reinforce learning through repetition and targeted practice.

I am particularly motivated by the goal of making Maths more accessible. Many students struggle not because of ability, but because they have not been taught in a way that works for them. I aim to remove this barrier by creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing confidence in their own ability. Ultimately, my goal is to equip students with both the knowledge and the mindset needed to succeed independently.
