GrindsWorld Tutor: Devanshika Sharma

Hello! My name is Devanshika Sharma and I sat the leaving cert this year emerging with 6H1s. I find the sciences to be a compelling area of study during my second level education. I am pursing it in college by studying medicine. I received 397/400 marks on my biology leaving cert exam and 591/600 on my maths leaving cert exam and 390/400 on my chemistry leaving cert exam. During secondary school I would teach certain topics to my friends which helped me with learning such topics myself well. I feel due to this experience I am able to understand how people think and the different ways to help others that are struggling. As a college student I will be giving grinds online. The time duration of one grinds lesson will be of an hour which I will divide into 10 mins of revising what we covered the previous lesson. 30 mins of the time will be spent on covering the next topic. Next for 10 minutes I will have student explain to me what they understood from this lesson. In the remaining 10 minutes I will assign the student with either some questions or give the student a small quiz to test their knowledge. Unlike other grinds teachers I will refrain from giving the student too much work to complete on top of their leaving cert stress. More importantly since I just finished the Leaving Cert I know how hard it can be so I will also have time to listen to the student's worries. I will conduct small tests here and there which will be conducted after the completion of every two topics. They will last an hour and will also be taken online.
