Hi I'm offering grinds in biology and chemistry in the Galway City area. I got 4 h1s in my leaving cert including 95% in biology and 95% in chemistry. I have two years experience of giving grinds. I'm currently a third year medical student in NUIG.
I'm also offering maths grinds for Junior Cert. I achieved 94% in Leaving Cert Maths. I'm available to give them Monday to Sunday. I charge €25 an hour or €45 for two hours on Zoom.
I’m an experienced grinds teacher having given grinds in various subjects for the past two years in college. I have thought grinds in all subjects over zoom with my students getting high scores in the Leaving Cert in 2020 and 2021.
I take a student focused approach to grind and base what I teach around them. My goals are to work on any weaknesses the student may have in a subject or if they want to work on a different topic we do that. It is all based on what the student wants. I like to start off by making sure they get the basics right as that is very important in getting an overall understanding of the subject. I believe in making sure the students have an understanding of the different topics because this makes it a lot easier to learn and remember more details later on when tests and exams come along.
I also like to focus on exam technique. Often when students come to me at first they don't have a great understanding of what they are being asked for in the Leaving Cert or what answer to give. I focus on making sure the student gives direct and precise answers that are right according to the marking scheme where the examiner can only mark it as being correct.
