GrindsWorld Tutor: Sorcha Doyle

Hi,
My name is Sorcha and I have over seven years experience giving grinds in both French and Spanish and in my final year of the masters in education.

I received an A1 in French in my leaving cert and a B1 in Spanish (which I started in 5th year). Since then I have lived in Madrid, Paris, Seville and Valencia, including teaching English and French to Spanish children and working as an attraction operator in Disneyland Paris!
I graduated from UCD in 2019 with a first class honours in Modern Languages, majoring in French and Spanish.
In my grinds career so far I have taught primary school children up to University level students. I have worked with students with additional learning needs and those aiming for top grades in state exams.

This summer I am once again offering short courses for all level students. The courses are one-on-one and take place on Zoom. There are two options: Either 5 day course (1 hour a day Monday-Friday) or 8 day course (1 hour a day Monday-Thursday over two consecutive weeks).

These short courses can be general or can be specific to the students' needs. For example, a student going into 6th year might like to focus on oral production or written work, whereas a student going into 2nd or 3rd year might like to focus on vocabulary and grammar.

For students going into 1st-3rd year:
5 day course - €150
8 day course - €200

For students going into 4th-6th year
5 day course - €175
8 day course - €240

Courses start the week beginning June 20th and end the week beginning August 8th.

I am also offering weekly grinds throughout the summer which are €35/hr for Junior Cycle and €40/hr for Senior Cycle.
