Tutor Bio
My name is Clodagh Semark. I am 23 years old. I have a degree in English and Anthropology from Maynooth University and an MA in Anthropology. I love reading, writing, drama, poetry, plays, and basically all things involving English and literature. I'm studying to be a secondary school English and History teacher and I have a passion for both teaching and learning. I have a west highland terrier dog called Harry who I absolutely love and I have many hobbies which include walking, swimming and painting.
My lessons are typically anything from 30-60 mins long but can be longer to suit the student's needs. I have a BA in English and Anthropology and a MA in Anthropology from Maynooth University. I am a TEFL-certified tutor to teach English online as a foreign language and I have 2 years experience of in giving grinds in English and History for junior cert and leaving cert level for students aged 12-20. My techniques are mainly focused on visual learning through flashcards, PowerPoint, reading, and writing but can adapt my teaching style to suit the student's needs. I also have key points information sheets

- Oct 2023 Valentina Bonato Clodagh was very helpful to my daughter in preparing her for her English Junior certificate. Although we contacted very late, it was still enough to achieve a Merit in her English paper
- Aug 2023 Edel English may not be an obvious choice for grinds but we were so happy to have found Clodagh. My son was doing Ordinary level for his Leaving Cert and all along English had been a "tick box" subject for him. Clodagh managed to get him to tune in to what he needed to do and low and behold he pulled an O1 in his results. He was both delighted and surprised. It just goes to show that when you find someone that "fits" your needs the results can come. Thanks Clodagh!
