GrindsWorld Tutor: Eimear

Dia daoibh, ciao a tutti and hallo zusammen, my name is Eimear Kennedy and I'm currently offering grinds in Irish, German and Italian. I am a third year Management Science and Information Systems Studies student at Trinity College Dublin with a passion for languages and teaching. I sat all three of these languages at both Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate level, achieving three Higher Level As in the former and three H1s in the latter, all of which were 95%+. I learnt Italian entirely by myself, with no classes, grinds or input from any teachers. I also was awarded a place on the Scéim Cónaithe in Trinity College Dublin for the academic year 2020/21 for excellence in the Irish language.

I truly love languages and I found learning all three of these to be interesting and enjoyable (far away from the rote-learning and dusty textbooks of other subjects), which is something I want to pass on to my students!

Having completed the JC and LC exams, I have comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum and requirements in each of these subjects. I have also been to the Gaeltacht, Germany and Italy numerous times and can provide insight both lingustically and culturally. I want to keep things practical and make sure the student feels comfortable using the language through speaking with friends, music, TV shows, books, holidays abroad/in the Gaeltacht and of course in the classroom!
