Hi there, my name is Shannon. I am 23 year old BSc Accounting graduate. I attended University College Cork where I achieved a First Class Honours degree.

I am currently working in the financial services industry and I am set to sit my final FAE ACA exams in Summer 2023 en route to obtaining my chartered accountant qualification.

Having studied business & accounting at both second and third level, I have a broad knowledge of business areas including financial accounting, management accounting, auditing, strategic finance, economics and mathematics.

My approach to tutoring would be to focus on the areas the student is struggling on and challenge them to improve further upon areas in which they are more comfortable. I would look to ensure the student has a working knowledge and true understanding of the material, other than a rote learning approach. I would focus on introducing the material, building upon the knowledge and putting it into practice with an array of text book and exam paper questions. I will assign the student homework to revisit the principles learned in session and allow them to apply their knowledge. I will also provide focused study tips, study guidelines and exam support leading into exam season.

I am open to providing 1-2 hour sessions, 1-2 times a week during term and as often as you like outside of term (depending on your preferences).

I would be open to providing grinds at both 2nd and 3rd level for any business related subject or module. In addition, having achieved As in the Junior Certificate and H1s in the Leaving Certificate, I am also available for Junior Cert French and Irish grinds.

I am based in Cork City and open to either one-to-one, group tutoring, either in person or via Google Meet/ Microsoft Teams. I am fully Garda vetted and have a full clean driver’s licence if sessions at your home are more preferable to you. If you have any questions feel free to call anytime.
