Tutor Bio
My name is Sophie, I am currently studying Spanish and French in Trinity College Dublin. I have been providing language lessons for three years, with all previous students seeing significant improvements in both their test results as well as in their overall attitudes toward both studying and toward the subject matter itself.
I have taught a variety of students, one-to-one, over the last three years with lessons specifically designed around the Junior and Leaving Cert syllabus. I have an approachable and relaxed teaching style and I try to make my lessons dynamic and fun.
My students include 5th and 6th year students who study Spanish in secondary school (covering the full syllabus, exam structure and oral work for mocks and exams), I have 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students that are studying Spanish with lessons catered towards improving their grades in the Junior Cert. I also teach adults who wish to build their conversation skills for business or travel purposes.
My Approach to Grinds:
a. Student centered approach to one-on-one tuition.
b. High quality notes on the content I teach.
c. Orals are an important aspect to learning a language, I aid my students by way of practice and personalised oral notes for both school assessments and state examinations.
d. Focused on motivating and inspiring my students to develop and use their foreign language.
e. Exam focused which benefits my students in preparation for exams. I am very familiar with exam structure and how to achieve maximum marks in exams.
