Tutor Bio
I have experience in working with students of all abilities and confidence levels. My lessons are built to spark curiosity, engagement and sense-making within and across all topics in Maths. Informed by recent studies and developments in Maths and Science teaching, I look at the broader picture for learning Maths beyond just state exams, while also dismantling the idea that you need a "Maths brain" to understand, and enjoy, Maths.

I have worked as a substitute Maths teacher full-time. In my undergraduate studies I engaged with the practical and academic elements of teaching, which included a placement in a secondary school, as well as reading and writing papers which touch upon the most cutting edge topics in Maths Pedagogy research. In my spare time I have worked with bringing the Mathematical and Scientific elements of Music to primary school classrooms in an environment where play and learning are encouraged in the same breath. Additionally I have worked as a grinds teacher for several students throughout their secondary school career and have helped them achieve spectacular grades in Maths.

My teaching methods can change based on your needs. If you are looking for exam-focused grinds (recommended for 3rd and 6th Year students), I can provide the insider information to help maximise marks. If you are looking to bridge the gap between Junior Cycle and Leaving Cert Maths (recommended for 4th and 5th Year students), I am able to make that process much smoother for you. If you have thought "I'm just not a Maths person. It's too hard", I can help manage that struggle and lead you to achieving high grades in Maths.
