Hi, I'm a 23 y/o, Irish Medical student in my 3rd year at UCD. I took Biology for my Leaving Certificate and got an A1 (H1). Biology is also a major part of my degree and I study it on a daily basis.
I like to start my grinds by having a meeting at half price to begin with so that I can get a feel for where each student is in relation to the course material, and then break the course up into manageable segments, putting more emphasis on the areas in which the student is having difficulties.
I will also try to focus on the more likely topics to come up, but will ensure that the entire course has been sufficiently covered by exam time so that the student is prepared for anything. I plan for the grinds to take an hour with a 15 minute quiz at the start of each session on the previous session's material. I will also provide homework material for the student to complete aiming to solidify the covered topics in each session.
