Tutor Bio
I am a native Spanish teacher, from Chile. I help students with different backgrounds to prepare for the Leaving Cert. We review specific areas for the exam: reading comprehension, role-plays, listening, oral; vocabulary. I focus especially on the opinion piece by helping the student to create a nice structure as well as meaningful content that will guarantee higher marks. Furthermore, I provide practical exercises to be able to remember verbs as well as build up vocabulary and common Spanish expressions.
Above all, I like to address the student’s needs or concerns about the exam to help them gain confidence.
Of course, we discuss strategies and techniques to save time during the exam and improve your marks. I use past exam papers and a textbook for Spanish Leaving Cert depending on where the student needs more support.
I am very patient with my students, so all questions are valid. If we need to come back to review something, we do it.
I hold a First Class BA degree in English Studies and Languages from Technological University Dublin; trained as a Spanish teacher ELE (Spanish as a second language) at Instituto Cervantes, Dublin, and certified Spanish as a second language teacher at Miguel de Cervantes University.

- Sep 2023 Sophie Rice Alejandra was the biggest help to me during my 6th year. I went up 4 grades from my mocks and it was all thanks to these grinds lessons. Alejandra puts in so much effort and genuinely cares about the different learning strategies for everyone and this makes a huge difference for studying Spanish. - Jul 2023 Mia Ennis Alejandra helped me incredibly as she worked with me to improve my Spanish which wasn’t great for my leaving very, I feel she helped me improve my Spanish massively and put in a lot of time and effort into working with me and my low level of knowledge on the language. - Jul 2023 Evie Smith I found one on one leaving cert grinds with Alejandra very helpful in the lead up the exam. Having a personal google classroom with notes and lesson catered directly to your individual needs is very helpful. I would highly recommend by the way languages lessons.
