Hi, I'm Sarah. I am a qualified German and ESL tutor, Garda vetted and registered with the Teaching Council of Ireland. I teach in grind schools and privately to ESL, University, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert students.

I have over 20 years teaching experience. I'm a native English speaker from Ireland. I also have full fluency and native level German pronunciation, having lived and taught for extended periods in Germany and I continue to communicate in German privately on a daily basis.

If you are studying German for the Junior or Leaving Cert, I have a range of bespoke supplementary material to summarise, cover and practise all exam topics: reading comprehension, grammar, written production, aural and oral. We will work through individualised exercise and vocabulary sheets, as well as past papers for the exam. My vocabulary sheets have been devised and categorised to include the actual vocabulary and topics from past papers. For the Leaving Cert Oral exam, I will help tailor your answers and work with you on pronunciation and ease of communication. I take a very structured approach to covering the exam curriculum in order to aid you in gaining a clear understanding of the language and maximum results.

If you are a university or ESL student, I individualise the lessons to suit your university or exam curriculum.

After each lesson, you receive a personalised email containing the homework assignments, as well as any documents, audio files, links or grammar sheets covered in the lesson. Homework assignments and corrections are included in the cost of the lesson.

I greatly enjoy helping students progress by gaining confidence and ease in using the German or English language and developing their exam skills and strategies within an encouraging, supportive and goal orientated learning environment.

ESL rate: 40€/hour
Junior Cert Cycle rate: 40€/hour
Leaving Cert Cycle rate: 45€/hour
University rate: 55€/hour

The first lesson is paid in advance. In order to accommodate this, I offer a short Zoom call before payment. During this call we can discuss briefly what you would like to focus on in the grinds. This will aid my preparation in creating an enjoyable, challenging and individually tailored first lesson.

After the first lesson, payments are made monthly in advance. Refunds will not be given in the case of illness as your place is reserved. Please inform me 24 hours prior to the lesson of a cancellation in order to receive credit towards the next month’s lessons. If I need to cancel a lesson, I will give as much notice as possible and you will receive credit towards the next month’s lessons.
